		uni transfer is the technology transfer liaison office of the University of Hannover. It was founded in 1987. Projects carried out by uni transfer do not only cover activities for the University of Hannover but also for other universities of the Federal State of Lower Saxony and are mostly realised in collaboration with partners from the public and economic sector. uni transfer maintains the biggest liaison office of a university in Lower Saxony and, compared to other universities in the state, it offers a broad spectrum of interconnected services to its clients from science and industry. Through these services offered by uni transfer, SMEs get an access to applicable R&D results from universities and other research institutions. Its services and projects cover (among others): the co-ordination of the project "Offensive for the Commercial Exploitation of University Patents" for 17 universities and two research institutions in the Federal State of Lower Saxony the assistance and consultancy for entrepreneurs and spin-off companies from the universities in the cities of Hannover and Hildesheim (eight universities) operational partnership in the Centre of Competence on Functional Foods of Lower Saxony the elaboration and management of an internet-based expert-pool for know-how transfer in the field of micro-technology partnership in the European technology transfer network Innovation Relay Centre the consultancy and assistance for companies looking for experts and problem solutions from university the consultancy and assistance for scientists of the University of Hannover in promoting their developments uni transfer is a partner within several technology oriented networks (BioRegioN, Existenzgrundungsinitiative Hannover e.V., Association of the Lower Saxon University Technology Transfer Offices, Innovation Network Lower Saxony). uni transfer collaborates closely with N-transfer GmbH, which is a subcontractor for the task of the commercial exploitation of patents from the universities of Lower Saxony. Close collaboration also exists with the EU Liaison Office Hannover / Hildesheim, especially with regard to their expertise in European RTD programmes, the dissemination of information about EU programmes and in the search of partners for European projects.
