| The European Commission recently published an updated version of the Guide to Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) provisions for FP6 projects. This document, meant for participants in these projects, contains useful explanations related to the management of IPR.
The updated version includes a number of clarifications. Furthermore, two new sections have been included, one related to the eligibility of IPR costs and one related to the use and registration of project names, acronyms and logos. The additions made by the Commission deal with issues that raised doubts or proved difficult to understand in practice. Therefore, both current and potential FP6 contractors are advised to consult this document before drafting their consortium agreements or implementing IPR management.
