When SSH research generates profit

A report made by Danish Business Research Academy (DEA) describes and highlights those research themes companies give the highest priority in the area of the social science and humanities.

The report is based on interviews and quantitative research among 100 companies from seven different lines of business in Denmark. The long-term aim of the report is to contribute to the companies' prospective possibilities to solve needs of knowledge through research in areas of strategic importance.

The analysis has resulted in the development of seven research themes which humanities and social science research should consider taking up in the future.

These research themes have been highlighted by a broad range of private sector companies. The themes are:

  • Creativity and innovation
  • Internet – behaviour and communication
  • The aging society
  • Culture and business understanding
  • Risk and uncertainty
  • Value, relevance and impact
  • Dynamics of change
